    Widebelt Sander

    Is THIS a good deal on a used widebelt sander??

    Not too bad on the price, but check the feed belt, and its variable speed drive motor. The belts are prone to tearing, and raplacements (from Klingspor) are around $35.00 as I recall.

    Also, if the extra belts he's offering are used ones, they're not worth much, if anything. Once they clog up all they do is burn the wood instead of sanding it.

    Also, I believe that's a drum sander, the big brother to little performax 10/20.

    Seems like a good price to me.

    Personally, I would have bought it for that price and then asked if I got burnt.
    If you don't take pride in your work, life get's pretty boring.

    Rule of thumb is if you donít know what tool to buy next, then you probably donít need it yet.

    Yeah, it is.

    I've got the 10/20, and it does a really nice job. I just finished gluing up a 27" wide maple 'butcher block' (strip, actually) top, though, and that bigger model would've sure come in handy!
