This is an interesting double music stand from about 1904. Looks like it could be an easy build if someone was looking for a project like this. I think it could easily be modified to make it fancier, too.

Thanks for posting that Dave, I might have to give it a go. It strikes me as maybe a bit clunky, but nice and stable with places for metronomes, recorders, pencils, cups, etc.

I drew it based on the original but it could most certainly be lightened up. It's designed for two people to play while facing each other but I suppose it could be made one sided, too.

I made myself some fumed oak materials and stuck them on the music stand. Hopefully it looks better.

That looks interesting. However, I don't need it for my music playing---Pandora, CDs, DVDs, and similar devices.
