    Spalted Maple

This one is approximately 12" in diameter, 4" high. It is from an old piece of maple that had been on the ground for some time. Pretty soft in places, but some sanding sealer and a sharp gouge seemed to get the soft stuff finished out. My wife wanted it with thick sides and it is now the banana and fruit bowl in our kitchen. Finish is Arm r Seal satin.

Very nice, Wayne. My wife gets my rejects for fruit bowls. Nothing this nice.
