    A "Whatzit?" bell

My wife is an avid bell collector. She recently acquired this item. We are completely puzzled as to what it is or it's purpose. Any input, or even wild guesses, would be appreciated. It is eleven inches tall and six inches wide at the base.

Kind of looks like one of those things you see Catholic Priests using to sprinkle holy water in the movies. I'm not Catholic so I really don't know

I grew up catholic and I agree that the handle looks like a holy water container/sprinkler (aspergillum). My wild guess is that it might be part of a missionary's travelling kit.
    All the best,

Ed, Ian, my wife is Catholic, I'm not but have been to plenty of Masses. That was my first idea also. She laughed at it. The holes are so big the water would run right out rather than sprinkle. Keep guessin'.

Would you believe... a pepper spray bell to discourage thugs from stealing from Salvation Army bell ringers ?? Cartridges load from end of handle - yeah, that's the ticket

We have a winner from another forum. A friend sent me this link:

Now, the question is: Would this mean the order for a martini would be:
    "Rung, not stirred?"
