Ok, Can we all pull together for Logan?

So, I've been trying not to post this, but I could use some good thoughts here.

And with so many folks with real problems, it seems trivial to post this about a dog, but well, I think you know how I feel about dogs.

Remember that little puppy that found his way to my back door last Christmas eve? Well, He's not doing very well. Apparently he's got what is called a "Liver Shunt", which means that all the junk that accumulates in the blood stream bypasses the liver, and as by product, his liver is very small.

I'm taking him in tomorrow to see if this is something that is operable or not.

So, if it is operable, well, he could live a long normal life, but if not, well, the prognosis isn't good.

He's a good little boy, and I'd like to keep him around a while longer...

Thanks in advance for your help...

Can there possibly be a heaven without our critters there with us?
My best friends have been my horses and dogs. Well now Ginger my mule (see new avatar).
Best thoughts and a prayer or two for all of you Brent.

All of my positive thoughts are with you and your buddy. Losing a pet is excruciating and it never really goes away. Something catches your attention and your mind goes back twenty-five years to that dog (or cat, or whichever pet you get reminded of). And it still hurts.

Bless both of you,

Jim

Brent I'm so sorry that Logan has some health problems. We will certainly send some good vibes for him.

Paris and Thibault (Tbo) send a big hello. Tbo, BTW, has had every illness known to veterinary science and a few unknown to v. science. He's 8 and knock wood, doing well.

From one doggie daddy to another, I'll be pulling for Logan from here in SoCal, Brent.

And if worse comes to worst, just remember that you guys gave him the best you could, and in doing so probably extended his time on this rock. ;)

One of the worst days of my life was when my I had to put my Shepard to down. It was agout a year ago and I still think of him everyday.

I sure hope Logan can be helped. My thoughts are with him.

The Rainbow Bridge

inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Even in the worst scenario, (which none of us desires)you must be happy that you took care of him and are givin him shelter, company and a fellow dog friend.

My thoughts are with you Brent.

Prayers for both of you...I saw Bob's post of the Rainbow Bridge and couldn't pass it fast enough..there is no crying in wood work!!! Unless you run your hand thru a table saw or get shot with a nail gun
