    Found something behind the barn.......

When I got home from vacation yesterday I found a large pile of wood behind my barn. The recent ice storm destroyed a large box elder at my neighbors house. I told him I would get it down after I got back but I guess he couldn't wait. The trunk measures 48" x 50" on the butt end. There are burls on the trunk and looks like some red staining in some of it.

I wonder how many bowl blanks I can get out of it?

I had my camera stolen to I can't post any pictures yet but I will see if my daughters camera will get the job done.
I'm a certifiable tree hugger. (it's a poor mans way of determining DBH before cutting the tree down)

Sounds like a nice score Paul.
