    Elephant Self-Portrait

Stumbled upon this one last night and hadn't seen it before. Pretty amazing stuff...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He7Ge7Sogrk

Apparently it's a trained behavior, taught by artist/trainers.

And another painting by the same elephant...

I've read about that. It is interesting. Makes you think about "what is art?"

Maybe you should look into teaching them how to use a lathe, and then you can get rich and famous?

I don't believe it. The art was in making the fake video.

    Frank, it's true.

Here's an article from Snopes (the debunkers). And here's an article from National Geographic.

It's not new--it's been happening for a while.

I use Snopes but do not accept what it says as gospel. Depending on how important the issue is, I often dig and check further.
NG is highly reputed and generally dependable and the article is definitely interesting. I'm still mighty skeeptikal.

Frank, I linked to the organization that is housing and training the elephants. I linked to a second video (by a second person) of the same elephant painting a different piece. It's legit. The world really is round.

No way. Flat. I know, I've walked off the edge more than once.
Now I know the elephant thing is a hoax.
