    Evil Monkey

This is a Zuni style pot from some Mike Smith ambrosia maple. It was dry as a bone and sat on the lathe for about a week...just wasn't motivated to finish it. Sanded to 400 with 5 coats of Formby’s Tung oil finish. 6x5 with 1/8" walls...a little thicker at the base for some ballast. It just has that Evil monkey look to it; I'm going to have nightmares
Last is a Jr Gent black Ti with some Vaughn mesquite...very nice to turn and a nice tactile feel. 4 coats of CA sanded to 4k between coats.

C&C used on the next ones

Cool piece. It does look a little like a monkey. Like the pen too.
