Forgive me if this is the wrong area to post this. Recently we had a shed destroyed by wind. One of the items in the shed was my dad's old wood saw that was driven by a belt attached to a tractor wheel. We are thinking about selling it and I am trying to get an idea about value. Any thoughts or suggestions. I will post a picture later today.

I assume what you are talking of is a belt driven circular saw sawmill? If so, value depends on what has not been broken/bent/twisted due to the building going down on top of it. Also how much of it is there. Are the log dogs there, is it ratchet style handle with increments so you know per pull of the handle what amount you are moving the log past the blade (for thickness of each board). I just saw one on CL that had its own diesel engine and was on a track that had the ability to put an axle under it and tow it. $4,000.00 was their asking price. It was a complete unit ready to use.

Here are pictures. The buzz description sounds accurate. The saw was driven by a pulley attached to the PTO of a Minneapolis Moline tractor and had table logs were laid on to cut to length for firewood.

Yep, that is what you have a buzz saw. For "buzzing" up a batch of firewood. Have seen them bring $50.00 if it was a good blade (value of the blade). Wayne was right on track on this one! When you said it was in the shed, I had this image of a circle mill on a track under a lean to for out of the weather cutting all winter.:eek:
