    Airplane Weathervane

I realize there are elaborate weathervanes of all types and subjects that have been around for years but not too many that were made mostly with a pocket knife as kids. Yes it's unbelievable we were allowed a pocket knife around age 6.

So if it's ok to re-live my childhood just a little bit, I'll continue to make a few of these and give them away to kids for their dad to mount on the old fence post.

By the way. The design has changed just a little since we made them of lath with a single prop and straight tail fin. And one never puts wings on them for fear of lifting the fence post they mount to.

It sure is ok to re-live the childhood a little. We should all do it from time to time.

    Nice little project.

I need to make one of those for the garden. We are seriously lacking in 'whimsy' in our garden...

Just stand Sharon out there with a silly hat on. That'd be all sorts of whimsical.

With the weather we've had lately, the biggest whimsy in the garden has been the weeds, rats and rabbits. But Sharon did an awesome job today of getting some good size tomater plants and getting them in the ground. I tried to close up some of the rabbit holes, and we'll have to figure out how to get the ground squirrels to quite eating the maters....

But at least it looks pretty good now!
