I have a new found respect for Dave, Don and the other refinishers

I spent 4 hours this morning stripping an outside door of 3 layers of latex paint.
My back is shot, my arms and legs exhausted, and I broke out in a rash whereever the paint stripper touched or dripped onto my body.
I will never do it again. I will buy a new door first before I ever strip paint off of one. Off of anything.

You guys should raise your prices.

Kudos to ya, thats one demanding job.

Allen having the right stripper for the material and a Flow-Over stripping tub and wash tub make all the difference in the world. Usually when a customer has tried to strip a piece themselves , like the ol Wooden Ice box we just finished , when I give them a price their is no haggling, we do it. LOL

Allen , box anything you want up and send it my way.
I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.

I had tried for fathers friend stripper, but noone around here had it.
    I used zip strip.
It did the job, but the bottom layer of latex paint needed to recoat and do again. And then there were all the panels in the door, all the crevices.
I used a wire brush and steel wool, then just soaked it with stripper and wiped it out with rags.
    never again.
