    Jarrod is Gilding

    with imitation gold. This top need a coat and will get lacquered so imitation gold is the way to go. It could also have been a good rub through lacquer top.

    Very cool. Gilding is a pretty sought-after skill around here.

    I'm not familiar with the term 'rub through lacquer'. Can you describe it or point me to more info?

    (I got to get back into that again.) I miss doing the old fire apparatus, but my eyes are getting bad on me.

    Toni I use the knife to lay on gold , just the way I learned. So like father like son , The best honor a son can give is to imitate his old man. I do need to teach him the correct way someday LOL
