in bad shape; Walnut 2 piece secretary. This will be another Tong oil hand finished job, but there is a ton of repairs in front of me. Everywhere I look there is missing , cracked damaged trim. Plus the entire piece needs to be taken apart and re-glued, That's Jarrod job  He's the best at keeping everthing in order and numbered.

COOL! Now will you (or Jarrod) have to steam the joints to get it apart then break out the glue pot?

Looking forward to seeing it all back to its original beauty!

Rich as hot as it is ,:huh::huh::huh: I can stick this thing out on the dock and splash water on it and it will fall apart :rofl: then work on each piece and break out the glue pot. Reminds me I am in need of making glue again.

Yeah this heat has to go..... we got spoiled here last week with 2 days in the sixties with 50's at night then right back into it........
I think my finish is drying at the gun tip.....

This one is back on the finishing table finally. I have it sealed and 1st coat of tung oil applied. Jarrod did a fantastic job with the repairs and making new pieces that were missing.

Well this one is in the bag. on the truck and ready to deliver , Hand rubbing tung oil out. You hand knows when your done rubbing. It gets hot and sore LOL

Amazing that must be one happy customer.

Dave it must be tough to decide how far to take a restoration. Any thoughts you can throw in regarding this.

Was the piece of wood on the bottom right hand door replaced it looks lighter than the rest?

When and if you do do this how do you balance time which is cost versus when to call a halt in matching. Is this driven by customer budget? or your own gut feel.

Is this driven by customer budget? Purity much so.

As far as knowing how far to take something. ......... Somethings reach the WOW look faster then others with hand finishing. After that it's adding more icing to the cake. Higher gloss deeper finish , by that I mean you can see down into the finish it's like looking into crystal clear water and seeing the bottom of the creek shimmer.

Wow...beautiful piece.....and some top-notch finishing work. No wonder you get a lot of referalls!:thumb:
