This is the piece i'm thinking about entering in the beast part of the contast. I call it this as to me,after the big meteorite strike, killing off all but a few birds and insects. The world is dying,no plant life is left. But out of the cracks of the earth arise a single flower,LIFE at the brink of dume.
The base is a piece of old walnut25 to 30 years at least. Dry as can be.no curlies just dust. The meteorite is a piece of maple burl. the bud is Box elder, the steem and humming bird are turned from a piece of misquite.
need your help with all c&c before i turn ether of these in.

I really like the pic where the perfectly smooth, light colored, HF sits next to the dark knurly piece. The contrast is perfect.
