    Patriot Guard Riders

Now that I own a bike and love to ride. I asked the lord about a group to ride with. On the way to the shop this morning from Church I noticed a big orange bike pulled over at an antique car side road meeting. The Rider and I spoke a bit and he asked me if I have heard of the group, He was waring his colors and patches and I said no I haven't and something else came up so the conversation changed. I looked the group up on google and I count the meeting as a answer to prayer. So I joined and already heard back from the head man of National Chapter this morning. Now just waiting to hear from the regional chapter head to see where I go from here.

That's great Dave. Looks like you get to do something really worthwhile while enjoying your bike.

Good on you Dave. I have a couple friends who are members. They have gone long distances to attend some funerals. One was to St. Louis, MO. They had police escorts the whole way at speeds over 90 mph.
Good for them but sad they are needed.
If I had a motorcycle I would join.

Surprised you hadn't heard of them before. Hardly a month goes by that there isn't a news story on TV about them escorting a fallen soldier's funeral procession. There have been a few protests by some off the wall groups that I think the guard have even ridden as a shield so family members didn't have to see the protest signs. (Hope I'm remembering that right.)
Great cause, and they don't seem to seek the limelight. They have a mission, they perform it, then fade to grey. Jim.

I know of the group but did not know the name of the group. I always thought it was a great cause and I guess that's why I was lead towards them. I am drawn to ministry this just seems to be another season in my life to enjoy and take it where it may lead.
Since John death these doors just keep opening relating to the bike. Joh would be proud of me I know this. I wish he was still around so we could of join together. But then I would not have a bike. Strange how God works in one persons life to effect others around them.

There's always a reason. It's just up to us to have our eyes open, to recognize the opportunity presented, then the willingness (obedience) to accept and follow through. Looks like you've nailed all 3!! Jim

Actually, I think it is the other way around.
I believe the funeral protestors were there first and PG was formed to provide a line between the protestors and the service.

BTW, guys. We are approaching that slope again, politics, religion....
    Careful.

You may very well be right Frank. Maybe it's just the order I became aware of the group.

I know nothing other than what I have heard in the news about the Patriot Guard, but anyone that honors one of our HERO'S has my admiration and respect.
God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do,
and the eyesight to tell the difference.
