    For the birds....

...a lyrebird to be exact. This video was shared by a classmate in one of the online classes I am taking. My favorite sound is the chainsaw, although the motor driven camera is pretty cool too.

Thanks goodness the mockingbirds we have here in the desert are relatively normal. They mimic other birds.

When I lived in the bay area we had a very aggressive mocking bird that had mastered the sounds of the various car alarms. And he liked to 'perform' all. night. long. More than once I was tempted to take him out via pellet rifle, but the whole superstition about killing mockingbirds held me back.

Heck, I wasn't even sure we had mockingbirds here until I actually started seeing them, their songs were so pleasant. Not to mention the fact we don't have neighbors with car alarms that go off anymore.

It is somewhat sad that this creature of the wild has enough familiarity with a chainsaw to be able to mimic it....

Or a car alarm. Look at the bright side, there was no cussing, swearing, politics, or religion!

And here is where I would put a smiley, slowly shaking his little head.

Those birds remind me of my wife...she can recall every word I ever said...seriously...though it usually takes us having a 'disagreement' of some sort to bring that skill out, she never fails to recall something I said, even things from 2 decades ago
