Finally hit me that I should buy a magnetic feather board instead of fighting with clamping the shop made ones I use. I was a little surprised by the prices of them but I will be purchasing one soon.

Any of them stand out GOOD OR BAD? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Hi,

I have a Magswitch featherboard. I don't know the model number. It is black, it has two magnetic switches on it. Looking down from the top it looks like a cartoonists rendering of feathers on an arrow. It works fine. If I remember right it cost about forty bucks.

Sorry I was not more help.
Oh yes, I am glad I purchased it.

Enjoy,
Jim

Jeff,

Those things are all too rich for my blood. I did, though, order some switched magnets from some place like enco, intending to make featherboards with them. They were like eight bucks, or something. Turned out they worked just fine, without the feathers... ;)

I wouldn't recommend them as a safety device, but they sure do improve accuracy, both at the table saw and the band saw.

Thanks,

Bill
