Nice shop

Had a visit today with a nice rural business near here. One of their enterprises is a nice big shop for their own use, as well as custom millwork.
They had some serious big iron in the shop, picked up by the owner in his travels. I never saw one of these, which he called a "straight line saw", for straightening up the live edge on a big board off the sawmill.
Very cool.

That straight line saw appears to have one or two horsepower, huh? :D

The conventional tablesaw on the left side in the last pic looks like a toy next to the rest of that equipment. Cool shop...thanks for the photos.

Like Jim said Peter, I would take the facility any day.:) That guy has his walls covered exactly like i would like in my next shop.:thumb::thumb: Old iron takes up too much space.:D

It sure is a nice building. The shop part in the pics is about 40 x 60 x maybe 16high. There's an unheated lumber storage, complete with Woodmizer, about 4 times the size of the shop. I was there on other business, so didn't want to be taking too many pics.
Almost meets my idea of the ideal shop: big enough to turn a tour bus around inside without backing up.
Not bad for a sideline to the business.
Peter

That is a nice shop. The guy I get my wood from has one of those saws. Has a laser to line up the board to giving the best yield, runs it through and cuts the rough edge off.
