    Box for friend's retirement

    Top: cocobolo (book-matched)
    Sides: zebrawood (resawn so grain is continuous around the outside)
    Corners: ebony

    The corner posts provide both the feet and the lid supports.

    Very nice!

    I like the corner-post/lid-locater idea. I'll bet locating and precision cutting those through mortises in the lid was challenging, too!
