Thank you Jonathan and all, the critical thing is developing a method/jig that will allow accurate forming of the outer curve square to the working face.

Of course the inner and outer must be the same radius.

Easy if you have CNC, but mine are done on lathe and disc sander, both curves are possible on a lathe but I guess most turners would need a pattern makers lathe to achieve them.

The segment charts from William Smith are a big help in determining dimensions for jigs etc.
