curly maple & persimmon jelly fish

I made this for entry into an art contest. The top is maple and the legs (tentacles) are persimmon. It is 8-1/2" dia x 7-1/2" tall, the finish is lacquer.

That's very cool, Dennis. The legs must have been a bit nerve-wracking to carve.

My instant reaction, when I saw the first pic, was, "Clever."
The next instant the reaction was, "Beautiful."
The next instant the reaction was, "I love it."

    Enjoy,

Dennis, when I look at turned objects I see one of two things. Either a nice turned object or a work of art. I clicked on the photos before I read your post. The first thought that came to my mind was "ART". I like this an hope you do well with it.
