Here are a few shots of some woodworking tools that belonged to a jewish carpenter from the early 1900s.

Very cool. :thumb: Do you know how long that exhibit going to be there? It's a shame that I've not been to either the Skirball Center or the Getty Museum. I really need to check them both out.

Vaughn, the woodworking tools were part of a permanent yet rotating collection called Visions & Values.

Like you, I have passed the Skirball sign on I-405 countless times and never paid any attention. We finally decided to go today.

I have been to the Getty museum and Getty Villa. I personally like Getty Villa more than the museum and I liked the Villa more prior to the renovation. I think it had more character before the renov.

Thanks for posting it Mohammad. My father's father died in 1908 or so, on my father's birth certificate, his father's occupation was listed as "furniture." I could never find out if he built furniture or simply worked in a store...

I can't help but note that the lower middle horned plane, which is a scrub, seen in photo 3 has its horn backward. If you look at photo 1 on the left is a smoother with the horn positioned correctly.
