I visited a non-woodworker friend of mine last weekend, and one of the things he did was show me a few old planes he'd bought at a yard sale back in the '70s or '80s. He bought them just because he thought they were neat...no intent on using or reselling them for profit. I grabbed a few quick pics and figured I'd share them here.
First up is a tongue and groove plane. I hadn't seen anything quite like this one before:
This one is some type of rabbet plane, I'm assuming. There is hardware to hold a fence (missing) and a depth stop on the edge:
A cove plane?
And a cool molding plane:
I could find no maker's marks on these, although I didn't remove any of the irons to see if they were stamped. It was apparent these planes had been users back in the day, but they were all still in nice shape.
