    Broken band saw

    Dang! I have this bandsaw:

    http://www.grizzly.com/products/G0555

Was doing some resawing last night, and noticed some blade drift. That's odd, I thought, hadn't seen that before. The workpiece was ruined. I cursed myself, and decided to work on something else. Went to release the blade tension, and noticed part of the mechanism wasn't just cracked, but had completely broken off, right above the second bolt. It's less than two years old. Dang. First time I've had that happen on a major tool. Guess it'll be down a while...

    Thanks,

    Bill

Too bad. I'd cry too if my G0555 broke. But anything mechanical can go bad. Fortunately, it should be an easy fix.

I have the same saw. Just picked up an Delta 14" in perfect condition this week to (probably) resell. But man I love my G0555. Even though I am not a fan of Chiwanesse machines. Keep us informed on the repairs. But I from what I have heard I expect Griz will have you parts in short order.

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do,
and the eyesight to tell the difference.
