Birds Schmirds, I like The Squirrels!

I see people building birdhouses, birds are okay but personnaly I like watching the Squirrels. This is some of my reclaimed redwood, I figured it should weather okay.

Made a plexiglas roof, This is the first time I've tried bending plexiglas, I clamped it to the workbench with a caul on top and used a heat gun, went slow and easy, bent very nicely!

Glued some angled strips to match the angle of the roof.

I attached the roof with double sided tape, but I plan on using some clear silicone when I get some.

Full of Peanuts.

In place waiting for the Dinner crowd to arrive!

Should take a pretty clever squirrel to climb that plastic tube to get to the nuts! :thumb:

I've since attached a 3/8" diameter rope from the feeder to the fence so they have a bridge! :thumb:

So Dan, did you cut the angled wood first or did you cut the wood to match the angle on the bent plexiglass?????? Great job on the bending and build. Squirrels around my farm buildings and barns are just large rats hence the jack russel and rat terrier dogs on our farm. They are delicious though (the squirrels not the dogs).

I got the angle approximately where I wanted it on plexiglas, then I cut the wood to match the angle of the plexiglas.
