    Another Shaker Box

Since I'd already put two bands together (I always make extras, in case of bending failures.), I decided to make this one into a 'carrier basket. The handle hoop is steam bent, and the thicker portions attached to the top & bottom of the hoop. The bottom oval is curly maple, dyed with diluted TransTint medium brown.

Finish is several coats of SealCoatŪ shellac.

Very nice Jim. Is the maple book matched, or one piece?

It's one piece. Resawn from an 8/4 board. It's one slice under the piece that was the bottom of the other box I posted pix of last week. If I'm careful, I can get two more slices out of that board.

Very nice. Made we want to know how to do it so I found a video on the net. Looks like it could be a fun project.
