OK, so to keep peace I get diverted from a large project occasionally to do that which keeps LOML happy. Of course, she's happy anytime I'm busy in the shop and out of her way, except when it's time to cook! :)

I built a couple of "Candles on a Curve" from a Wood Magazine article several years ago. The design in the original article showed five candles. Those went to family members who really seemed to enjoy them. According to SWMBO, it was time to make a couple more. I had done a sample using three candles and we both preferred the smaller design.

This one is done using maple rails and walnut for the piers and votive holders.

The second one is solid cherry.

Joinery is hidden dowels. Both are finished with a wipe of BLO/MS that I let cure for a few days. Topcoat is rattle-can poly.

Mama's happy so everyone else is happy, too!
