I seem to be at the stage right now where lots of the next generation, that is nieces, nephews, and children of close friends are having new babies. I like to celebrate by them something a lttle out of the odinary.
There are a few items sold by Lee Valley that inspired me to make some simple shelves with names on them. Here are links to those items in the lee Valley catalogue:

Over the last two years, I have built nine such shelves, some out of pine, some out of cherry To keep things interesting for me, I usually vary the shelves a bit.
