Does any one here know anything about this air filter unit?

Looking at having better air to breath in my new shop with out busting the bank. I found a guy selling one of these used for $50.00 : http://www.amazon.com/Shop-Vac-10300...2858848&sr=8-3
Now my shop is only 10 x 12 plus I just purchased a Harbor freight dust collector to collect the heavy stuff.
Do you think this little unit works very well?

Although my shop is very small I think this unit might be too small as well. I think I can make a DIY unit using a box fan and furnace filter set up that might work better than this and replacement filters would cost less as well.

I know some folks that use one of those setting next to their scrollsaw. For your 120 sq ft shop, the specs say it is big enough "The induction motor quietly moves 235 cfm of air to filter dust as small as 5 microns efficiently and effectively; it is able to filter a 290 square foot room every 10 minutes." I'd be more interested in something that takes out dust as small as 1 micron myself like this http://www.amazon.com/JET-AFS-400-Ai...2869225&sr=1-2
