Spalting pile and some quartersawn red oak

Someday this will be a flatwork project so I posted it here.

I thought I'd share a couple of pics of my spalting pile. It's a mix of red and sugar maples and I'm hoping to get what's in the second pic. I'll let them cook till the end of the summer. I also threw in a couple of a red oak we cut last Sat. It was the second log off the tree and it was 24" and a 10 footer. We decided to try our had at quarter sawing. I still have to go get the butt log. I think it's around 28" at the stump. I'm planning on quartering it too. We got some really nice quarter sawn and rift sawn stuff. The boards in the pics are 4/4 8 x 10s. The wider stuff is on the bottom.
