Hello y'all! Just saying hey and a little pertinent info about me.
If any of you here frequent some of the other forums I'm sure you'll recognize me, I've been ww'n since my apprenticeship started at age 14... So about 16 yrs now. I was fortunate in having a very talented mentor who, like me now, would rather use a hand tool than modern power tools.
I'm a full-time municipal FF/Medic which means I "work" 10 days a month and play in the shop the rest. I have a fairly well rounded 2400 sqft shop equipped with quite a few hand tools however as I rely on them more and more I seem to never stop looking for the next specialized tool I don't have yet. Most of the power stuff lays idol except for the TS as I still rely on it for mass ripping.
If this is anything like other forums, no pictures = didn't happen so here are a few of my latest builds.
The last one, a hutch, is not quite done but boy has it been a trip to build. The moulding, rail and stiles, raised panels... All but ripping was done by hand with a mixture of hand planes mostly. I've been having a blast with a Stanley type 1B I recently acquired and got cleaned up.
Happy to be here, see y'all around!
