Don,
The belt tension issue was caused by a slight difference in the v-notches on the driven pulley. The middle one, for whatever reason, was just a touch wider than the other two. The one closest to the blade was just a hair wider than the one on the opposite end of the pulley. 3 grooves, 3 slightly different effective radii. An easy fix with the lathe.
