dragon orb

Well it's been a while since i posted anything.This is my first carving, and it was a challenge. Wanted to do something different, and this is what i came up with. It's all holly, main form and dragon, and pedestal. Aprox.4 3/4 x 6 3/4. thanks and all comments good or bad more than welcome as always.

Since I'm currently working my way through the "Storm Of Swords" by George R.R. Martin, I can say that's a very clever use of woodburning and carving! Love the claw foot. I could see some fans of these kinds of books being very interested in that piece!

I would have been satisfied to have turned the orb, let alone have the ability to create the carving embellishments, a spectacular piece.

Thanks all. it really consumed my time trying to get this thing some where close. I have a couple other ideas that i'm gonna try, but i think i'll do a few simpler pieces fisrt.

There is a lot of creativity in this piece, combined with the workmanship, it is an amazing piece of art. A lot of skills were necessary for this, you did a great job.

That is a really great piece of work. Glenn was really into dragons when he was in school. He is going to love this. The claws on the foot was a stroke of artistic genius.
