Problem with my Delta 40-560 scroll saw.

I've had this scroll saw for probably 15 years or more. It has always had the same problem but I would like to find "the fix" for it. The small handle that tensions the blade always pops loose when the saw is running, therefor the blade comes loose and breaks. As you can see in the photo my current fix is ...well...duct tape. It holds the tension handle in place and all is well. It's just a pain to have to remove the tape all the time when I need to change blades. Does anyone here have this saw and do you have the same problem?
