Exploring some changes in form with an aim of making some minature versions as trinket boxes.

Walnut, Ash and Beech 152mm dia.

There's a few more bowls in the bits gallery.

Do you ever have any problems with wood expansion/contraction on this pieces?

They seem to be OK Vaughn as long as I get the wood as dry as possible before gluing.
My cheap meter says 8% or less, the worst wood so far for movement during preparation has been the Ash but that may be down to its initial kiln drying. Samples microwaved as a check after seeing shrinkage after cutting showed moisture bleed spots from the core although the surface 1/3rd was dry.

Chas i like what ya did with the top a lot.
The dished lid was a move to check turning/holding methods Steven, as I have an inkling to combine the lid with an ear stud dish and a ring finial.
