In my latest Penn State catalog the last page had a sale on a long handle that accepted 1/4" shank router bits for lathe turning. Looked interesting but didn't explain it that much.
Asking a stupid question is better than repairing a stupid mistake.
I am a member of that forum, and the lathe is a great piece of work that will do much more than my commercial router lathe (which I bought used for $$35 but haven't used yet) but it's just too much work to take on when I have actual stuff to make.
