A simple bookcase?

Today out of nowhere, a coworker asks me if I want a piece of 3/4" birch plywood that was cluttering his garage. I did, so he brought it to me.

I am going to try to make the bookcase out of that.

Any suggestions?

if your the guy who figures out how to make an entire book case out of one sheet of plywood you'll be rich!!!!!!:)

But seriously. Some one mentioned face frames and I feel that is the way to go. even using the birch plywood as shelf material a nice 3/4" thick and 1+1/4 (or larger) high hard wood banding on front of the shelves not only looks nice but ads a LOT of strength.

Shawn, you will want to dado your shelves into the sides for strength. If you go for adjustable shelves, then dado one shelf in in the middle to put some rigidity into the whole case. Also to keep things from racking (twisting), rabbet the back in. I have another thread going called 'Bookshelves for Moi!' It might be helpful for you. I am including my thinking and decisions made as I go along. So that might also give you something to consider.
