    Finishing and a project

I refinished this nice old walnut desk for a customer right across the street from my shop. New malti Mil engineering company. So I need to keep them happy. This is the boss's office. He had 2 fire proof safes and needed a Cardenas. So I suggested he use the safes and we make a top. Solid walnut and we veneered the safes. Man them things a HEAVY !
Finish is a mix of 1part Med. Walnut, 2 parts hickory and a slight bit of green , clear coated with Max-na-max by Camble.

I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.

That came out very nice looking. You'd never know they were safes. Did you consider even a small toe kick, or would that have made them too high.
