Pretty much like you. A mish-mash. I do have some small drawers, etc. Plus those plastic coffee cans are handy. I have several labeled 'picture hang stuff'.

It was originally banged together from scrap particle board and there really was not much to salvage. The 1/4" ply shelves were glued in so taking them out would have been a real chore. I did salvage the casters, piano hinge, and latch.

The replacement was to store the trays in a standard wall cabinet...for now. Maybe something more sophisticated down the road.
