I'll probably catch up to Golf first, Musical instruments second and then Beer.
I have friends who hunt. I may someday spend what they have spent.

My first turkey was 23 LBS and cost right at $30 per pound.
I hunt, drink, and woodwork. I need another job
If you don't take pride in your work, life get's pretty boring.
Rule of thumb is if you don’t know what tool to buy next, then you probably don’t need it yet.

my grand dad told me at the age of 83 to do what you want when your younger and when the chance arrives, because tomorrow you may not be able to,, he said he was criticized for some of so called foolish moves but he did it and they didnt, they just looked at his pictures and listened to his stories, i am still trying to do as he told me
next year will be tough but its not over till the crows fly over

After 30 yrs of hobby woodworking, got a garage full of tools. Last 5 yrs, I have spent $2500 average per year upgrading, acquiring new tools and a machines. Some think I have too much invested. A fellow I worked with, took a fishing trip every year to a lodge. One trip he caught 3 fish and I asked him what each fish cost, said it was $1000 each. Compared to what some guys spend smoking , drinking, golfing, etc. Woodworking is a cheap hobby! I probably spend an average of $60 a week.

My definition of a hobby is "expensive and time consuming".
I got into wood working to save labor costs in remodeling; first at my parents house, then my own house and my in- laws. I feel that I build better, longer lasting furniture than I can afford to buy.
I rationalize tool purchases by the money saved in labor.
