A great improvement over what was there. I really enjoyed the contrast between old and new. It makes you realize how ugly the old cabinets were.

just wanted to share just how bad my molding skills are.(ok, maybe they arent horrific, but Im guessing over time, Id improve, or at least not attempt it anymore.)
I used a cell phone camera, and tried to get clear pics. All these pics were before poly was applied, and I purposely didnt finish the moldings or soffit panels so I could do any tweaks, and repair any damage I did.

first and second pic, shows the end of the soffit run, my outside corners, where after we touched up the top with stain, there was no more white showing. couldnt figure out how to get the incline of the soffit to match the molding. And the second picture is my first attempt at the returns at the end.I had to move them up because of the small amount of wall.
third, the inside corners of the angled soffit, gave me headaches, I finally had to accept that fault up there, not visible from the kitchen, only when you stand like I did and look up at it.
last pic, the outside corner of the pantry, I cut that piece 5 times before I had to decide to leave it, touched the proud edge a bit with sandpaper, but stained up, it came out unnoticable. So I cheated, I dont care. Its an akward spot, noone noticed it except me. Only one edge came out proud, so touching it with sandpaper didnt effect the sharp edge profile of the crown.
I couldnt get a pic of the moldings after stained and finished, I didnt have that cell anymore, but next trip in a week, Id shoot one.

Im not on speaking terms with any members of my family right now, as they told me my work is great, and I hate my closest people telling me lies trying to be nice and not hurt my feelings.

    Allen:
If you'd quit pointing out your flaws/mistakes, most people wouldn't even notice them. Maybe the family isn't lying to you - they just aren't that critical (or observant).
