    castor oil as a finish?

Anyone tried it? I'm not looking for a show finish for a piece of furniture, I built a new toolbox for my RC plane, and its going to end up covered in castor oil anyway.

Never tried it, but I do know what it looks like spilled all over an RC toolbox.

Wonder if adding a bit of Japan Drier to it would make it harden somewhat? Might be worth trying on some scraps.
