    stand for church

Simple project I made difficult because I can't measure a hole.
Anyhow, it is a stand to hold the candle lighting thingy used in church.
Flatwood is maple from my 'too big to be scrap' pile.
Dowels are from Lowe's because my local, hometown, stores don't keep much inventory of anything these days. Can we say "Bye-Bye"?

Nice work! We call it a "taper" although that is what we also call a small, slim candle, and a processional candle. Useful word.

Thanks Roger. I'm Lutheran. We just call it a 'thingy'.
