Thread: SolidWorks

    SolidWorks

Does anywone else here use 3D programs like SolidWorks or Inventor? I use SolidWorks to do all my planning. It has a nice rendering engine built in that allows you to get a better look at it once the design is complete.

Hi, i'm new here. The word "Solidworks" caught my attention. I also use solidworks for all i do. It's a great program. I happen to be in a company that has on of the worlds top beta testers for this program so i have no problem getting things done! But yes, for an starter, this is a complicated program. Once mastered, it's extreemly addictive but most of all it's very useful. Thanks for allowing me to release.

Rob, would you post a perspective view of that model?

I did some looking. It's hard to find a price but I found an archive of a CAD forum thread from 2004. at that time Solidworks was going for $4495/seat plus $1295/year to keep it up to date. If the current price for SW is anywhere in that neighborhood, I'd definitely be hard pressed to consider it for my woodworking projects.

    RE: perspective

Which perspective would you like. A front view?

How about a perspective view from where you made the second image you posted?

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
