    Platter

Had a great friend of mine retired 3/31/12 from AT&T with 38 yrs. His retirement party is June 9th. When I was with the FAA he would work on our phone lines for all the equipment we had. There were sometimes in the middle of a thunderstorm or snow storm that the two of us were out getting things taken care of. He loved nature and watching deer so thought of burning a deer on a platter. It is 11 3/4" across and has inlace in the rim. I finished with Target Coatings EM 6000 WB lacquer. I also made him a Ultra Cigar Pen. Pen blank is Indian rosewood.

There is nothing like a present that a friend made for you! Great job; he'll love them!

Those are great looking Bernie, I'd have to agree with Rob, those are going to be hard to top...unless you're giving them in the saddle bag of a new Harley.

Thanks for the kind comments. I am pleased with how both came out and I am hoping he likes them as I am sure he will.

Both the pen and the platter look great, Bernie. Your friend will be blown away by the gift, I'm sure.

Beautifully done Bernie. Don't be surprised to see your friend get a bit choked up when he recieves those treasures. It looks like your pyrography skill has really progressed nicely.
