    Bathroom remodel

I have a bathroom I am working on and it is a mess. The floor was completely rotted and most of the old galvanized pips where close to bursting. So far I have replaced the floor, plumbing and drywall. This week I should be finishing up making a new vanity and installing the shower stall. The vanity had to come out and as it was built in it came out in pieces. Most of it was ruined from all the water damage. Will have more pics this week. Click image for larger version.

Gotta love bathrooms with carpet on the floor. Was always ready for a shower after tearing out the carpet alone.

Back in the 70's my parents had wall to wall shag carpet in the master bath. They learned the lesson and moved on, though.

Mankind never ceases to amaze me Al. Been to loads of bed and breakfast places in the UK and carpet was on the bathroom floor. Gave me the creeps to think of what was lurking in it. Joke is in many of these cases there was also no bathroom fan.

Oh yes, one of our childhood chores, raking the shag. But that was in the 60's in our house.

Maybe try to convince them to try a cork floor? Cork is relatively 'soft' underfoot, wears well, isn't too expensive, and is water resistant - all good traits for a bathroom.
