    spiral vase

Its been a cold and wet long weekend so I sat down in the warm office and finished this one off, its only been a month . Supposedly its redgum but the color is all wrong, smells similar but not quite.

Stand 6.5"x 4.4" and finished with DO and a light buffClick image for larger version.

Beautifully done, Neil. The spirals nicely mirror the grain in the wood.

    Very nice!
After my brief foray into the world of carving on the knights I did, I have a whole new respect for those that carve!

Was this power carved and then sanded? Sure is pretty, and I agree with Vaughn about how the spirals mirror the grain, very well played!

here you go a WIP on the spirals also another shot of the top. I have found its rather important to have this area very neat as the eye wanders up there and any stuff ups really stand out.

Wow, that looks great in the close up!

    Thanks for the link!

I guess the turning of the piece is just the start of the work
