Or any one else that knows about antique clocks.I've just spent the last hr trying to find any info on this Gilbert antique shelf parlar clock. It was the wifes great grandfathers clock and has been handed down to her. I did find a pic of one that looked a lot like it but not exact.Is there a site i can go to to find out any info on this and a seth thomas clock that she has.Thanks and here's a couple pics of the one.

Steve, you may want to find an antique clock dealer and get his opinion. I have several old clocks and I got much more info on them from the antique "clock specialists" than the internet.

Stephen i aint much good in the search dept but i do like the clock.

Aint those great little carved details around the edges of the glass frame.

Steve I am on the road and will be home on Monday. I will look up those clocks for you and see what I can find. In my 31 years of fixing and restoring antique clocks I have not seen those particular two. I have several books that cover most of the clocks like waterbury, gilbert, seth thomas, new haven, sessions, etc. I will see what I can find for you. I have probably restored over 3,000 to 3500 antique and modern clocks over the years. This year I have slowed down and shrank my service area from 300 miles in diameter to 150 miles in diameter. Anyway I will check sometime next week.

Thanks man, as far as the clock in the pic it's the gilbert. The seth thomas i didn't take a pic of,but will when you get back.

I don't mean to hijack your thread Steve, just hadn't thought to post the question here. Great looking clocks by the way.

We've got one that belonged to my wife's great aunt. From what I've found, it was made about 1884. It works well, but the silver on the glass has been "cleaned" off at one point. Just wondering if anyone knows where to find reproduction glass prints for either etching or re-silvering?
