    Wire size?

I am ready to have the power hooked up to the meter and need to get some wire to run the 2' from the meter to the 200 amp main panel in the house. Thinking maybe gauge wire. What would you recommend. I have not had time to ask a sparky as I have been working on two bathrooms and at night trying to get the house livable. Ready for a vacation.

I think you'll need 2/0 Copper or 4/0 Aluminum/copper clad, been a while so may wait to hear from a true sparky.

Well, according to a chart in my electrical book, for 2' you could get away with 8 AWG copper, but I'd probably still do the 2/0...still wait for a sparky's response.

2/0 is required for 200 amps.

Thanks all, ran into a sparky at the supply store and he confirmed 2/0 wire.
