That pen will probably be used throughout the lady's time in practice.
I think that most people in professional practices have a "thing" that they use and then keep after they retire. The pharmacist keeps his/her original pill sorting spatula, the optometrist keeps the original Pd rule, etc. This lady will keep her briefcase and your pen. Take pride in that.
